After our visiting the National parks we decided to spend Memorial day weekend with the Greys. We stayed with them in Temecula and took a couple day trips into San Diego to see some sites.
MORMON BATTALION VISITOR'S CENTER
It was really neat to visit the Mormon Battalion visitor center. The kids were able to learn about some of their ancestors who served in the battalion.
At the end the kids got to pan for gold nuggets.

MOUNT SOLEDAD CROSS
It was sobering to visit this beautiful cross and remember the many soldiers and sailors who died protecting our freedoms.
SAN DIEGO TEMPLE
We enjoyed walking around the grounds of this beautiful temple. The last time I was here was over 25 years ago when my sister Sarah was getting married.
LA JOLLA COVE
We enjoyed searching the tide pools for little creatures.
It was fun to see so many seals up close. One of the baby seals kept swimming up and peaking at the kids as they played at the beach.
Brooklyn didn't like the sand, the water, and all the little creatures so she stayed dry while the older kids brought her pretty shells.
CABRILLO NATINAL MONUMENT
The monument and light house offered a beautiful view of the harbor.

The girls wanted their pictures with the ocean.
We drove my a military cemetery on the way to the light house. It was sobering to see the families of the fallen soldiers visiting their graves for memorial day.
CORONADO
After driving by the Midway we enjoyed playing at the beach at Coronado.
San Deigo was beautiful. We hope to come back soon!
