ROCK CLIMBING

Homeschool rock climbing/Ninja warrior gym day was a blast! Jared and Nathan were able to join us.

NEW VAN!
We were blessed to get a great deal on a new van.  I know it looks almost exactly like our old one, but it is 1 year older with a lot fewer miles.

FRIENDS
Maddy carved this cute little lamb out of butter at girls' group.
We had a fun St. Patrick's day preschool at our house.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY

The day was spent celebrating Brooklyn's birthday, but the girls were excited to find leprechauns and chocolate gold coins by their leprechaun trap.

CHURCH AT HOME
We've had some really special experiences having church at home. There is something very sacred and special about a father blessing the sacrament for his family in their own home. The first time Jared did it, I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace and comfort and I felt reassured that God was watching over our family during these troubled times.  Jared usually leads our sacrament meeting and I teach Primary/Sunday school. For one singing time the kids drew pictures of the first vision while we learned the song "Joseph Smith's First Prayer." Audrey drew this cute picture (with a little help on some of the people). The guy telling Joseph Smith to "Stop" is Satan.

ARIZONA SPRINGTIME

Luckily the social distancing recommendations coincided with perfect Arizona weather. We have enjoyed going hiking as a family.
Cute lizard

We avoid playground equipment, but go to the parks to play on the grass or using the paths to rollerblade and bike. The girls had fun running up and down this hill for at least 15 minutes.

After being home with kids all week, Jared and I especially enjoy our Friday night date night hikes. These photos just don't capture the intense colors of the beautiful AZ sunsets.

QUARANTINE

The girls are loving their new basketball set.
Brooklyn likes to take her baby tiger Roary out for walks around our neighborhood.

Puzzles. Lots and lots of puzzles.
Audrey told me that she does storytime for Brooklyn now that it's cancelled.

The kids were thrilled with their new glow in the dark shirts my parents got for them in New Zealand.

KOREAN WAR PROJECT

ABBY'S SOCIAL STUDIES PROJECT (AKA Jared's personal homework hell)

Abby procrastinated a huge project until the last minute, which consequently made it that much harder because the only war left she could sign up for was the Korean War (which nobody knows anything about). She researched an important battle, but when Jared took her to the hobby store, there were no models of a Higgins boat (amphibious landing craft). Same story at the next two hobby stores they went to. Abby was in tears, but Jared told her it would be ok. He pulled his first all nighters in dental school, two nights in a row, to help Abby finish this project. He officially hates middle school.

Brooklyn turns 3!

BREAKFAST
Jared got up early to make her pancakes. He made her one that looked like a pig, just like in her Little Pookie birthday book.

PRESENTS
Her siblings bought her this new backpack to take to preschool before they knew her preschool would be canceled.  I guess she can use it when she starts in the fall.
Brooklyn (and Audrey) were excited to get a new doll house family from Grandma and Grandpa C.
Brooklyn doesn't really like to wear anything except Frozen clothes, so she got a few more for her birthday.
Brooklyn got a baby tiger named Roary from Mom and Dad.

She says she is the mommy tiger and Roary is her baby.
She was excited to watch her new favorite movie for her birthday.

Brooklyn loved her new tent from Grandma and Grandpa D. She and Audrey have been taking turns sleeping in it each night.

PARTY
Maddy and Abby went all out planning Brooklyn's party. Maddy made this cute tape the nose on Olaf game.

The girls helped Brooklyn and Audrey make Snowmen out of marshmallows.

They also designed this cute cake with Elsa's water horse on it.

Maddy made the Frozen Happy Birthday banner on our paper cutter.
Both the girls made these snow icicles to go with the Frozen theme.

Blowing out the cake.
