April 2018 Update

EASTER
Brooklyn had fun shaking the eggs.
The kids had fun at the ward Easter egg hunt, unfortunately the heat melted most of the chocolate and fire ants got into a lot of them.  Abby said she wanted to invent insulated, ant proof Easter eggs.

The kids were much happier with our family Easter egg hunt because no ants got in their eggs and the chocolate didn't melt.
When Audrey has her letter week at preschool I usually make some sort of food to go with the letter.  I was having a hard time coming up with a food to go with the letter X until Jared suggested hot cross buns.  We then learned that hot cross buns are actually a traditional Easter food, so the timing turned out perfectly to have them the day before Easter.
The kids with their Easter buckets.
Nathan got a Jedi robe and a bubble wand that he thought looked like a great lightsaber.
Nathan decided that it was time he taught Brooklyn the ways of the force.

Audrey was the cutest Easter bunny.
The girls got princess dresses in their baskets.
Audrey decided to be a bunny princess
Brooklyn had fun crawling around finding eggs.

FAMILY FUN
Waco had a homeschool skate day and the kids had fun learning how to rollerblade.

Brooklyn and Audrey had fun in the bouncy house.

Audrey made a stuffed animal zoo train for Z week.

All 5 of our caterpillars hatched this year.  It was fascinating to see them emerge from their chrysalides.  Here we are releasing them into our backyard.

After Audrey finished her letter weeks, we started on numbers.  For 3 week we acted out the 3 little kittens.  Nathan and Maddy were happy to act it out with Audrey when they realized that they got apple pie out of the deal.

Washing their mittens and hanging them up to dry.

MARY'S 39th BIRTHDAY
Jared Collett spoiled me by making delicious chana masala, and topped the night off with one of his amazing massages.

I had a nice day with family. My kids were disappointed that I was just going to have mango Yonanas without a cake, so they were thrilled when my friend Callie Holt dropped this chocolate one off for me. Audrey was sweet and wanted to give me a gift just from her, so she bought me a Snickers bar (my favorite) with her chore money.

MILE SWIMMERS

After swimming laps twice a week with me this year the kids have gotten to be great swimmers.  They decided to see if they could swim a mile and they all did it.  I am especially proud of Nathan who could barely swim the length of the pool at the beginning of last summer.

AUDREY

Audrey has spent a lot of time this spring in the backyard picking wild flowers and singing to herself.

Audrey was proud of herself climbing her first tree.

Audrey was excited that she is finally big enough to ride a "big girl" bike.

We are really proud of Audrey finally getting potty trained.  Her reward was that she could take gymnastics like the big kids. Audrey loves it!

BROOKLYN
Brooklyn still isn't walking, but she is starting to pull up on things to stand.  She loves playing in the doll house with Audrey.

Brooklyn loves the piano and music.
