February 2021

GROUND HOG DAY!

Audrey woke up SO excited! When you are in Kindergarten, even small holidays are a big deal.

VALENTINE'S DAY

All our usual Valentine's parties were cancelled this year, so we just exchanged Valentines as a family. Luckily I had saved all our boxes from last year so it wasn't too much work. The kids loved the Almond Roca they got, but they informed me, "It isn't as good as Grandma's."

Jared and I celebrated Valentine's by going hiking. We misunderstood the signs and what we thought would be a 3 mile hike ended up being a 10 mile one. I had to laugh because this is kind of representative of our time together. When I married Jared I thought he had 3 more years of school and now we're going on 10 years. Luckily there is no one I'd rather share life's adventures with.

On our hike we saw a large area with lots of shale. I found it fascinating to see how the stone looked like wood.

President's Day
I took the kids to Anthem Park for Presidents day. We saw the beautiful Veteran's memorial there. If you visit it on Veteran's Day at 11:00 the sun will shine through all the pillars (representing the 5 branches of the military) to show the seal of the United States.

The little girls loved the quarter rides.
I didn't get a good picture, but the Anthem playground is one of our kids' favorites.

HEARD MUSEUM
I failed to take many pictures, but Nathan, Maddy, Brooklyn, and I took at homeschool field trip to the Heard Museum in downtown Phoenix. It was full of beautiful Native American artifacts.

FAMILY FUN
The photo doesn't do it justice, but we have some beautiful sunsets here.
