Sweet Sixteen!

Since our house is currently filled with boxes, Abby opted to just have a family party this year.

She got some Encanto piano music and this pretty formal dress that she can wear to her school's spring formal next month.

Maddy made her this delicious pan of baklava.

Happy Birthday Abby!

Brooklyn's 5th Birthday

Brooklyn woke up bright and early on her birthday and got into her St Patrick's day/birthday clothes.
She was excited to open a special gift from Grandma.

We planned to take Brooklyn on a carousels ride at Sea Port village, but the ride was shut down.
Luckily we were able to find a super fun park that wasn't too far away.

After we drove back from California, Brooklyn couldn't wait to open her presents.
She was excited to get some new big girl LEGOs.

Maddy and Abby gave her a cute little dog. Brooklyn is excited for when she can get a real one!

The day after we returned, the kids made cupcakes and decorated so Brooklyn could have a Frozen birthday party.

ROLLER SKATING FUN!

We topped off our year of Pogo passes by having one last family skating trip. The little girls had fun skating to their favorite Encanto songs.

BIKE RIDING
Our friends gave Audrey one of their old bikes, so now Brooklyn and Audrey both have a bike to ride.

SAN DIEGO
The kids and I were able to meet my parents in San Diego for spring break. The girls had fun in their new beds.

We enjoyed some beautiful ocean sunsets.

The beach was a little chilly, but it didn't stop the older kids from sand castle building and playing in the waves.
Brooklyn preferred to stay bundled up eating snacks.
Enjoying sunshine and ocean views from our balcony.
Beautiful fields of tulips!

LEGOLAND!

Over 40 but under 48

Lego friends just their size!

A mummy with glasses
Three red heads

Abby took Brooklyn for a helicopter ride
Hopefully Audrey learns about driving on the right side of the road when she gets her real license.

Nathan did a little better.
Brooklyn got stuck in a traffic jam, but still had fun driving her own LEGO car.

Riding on a carousels of LEGO horses.

A boat ride through fairytale land.

It's a LEGO world after all!

HOTEL CORANADO
Also the old Marilyn Monroe film, Some Like It Hot, was set here.

Beautiful sunset at the beach by the hotel

We passed by some sand writing with my name so the kids had me stop for a picture.

It was the day before Brooklyn's birthday so the kids wrote her a birthday message.

We saw some pretty cool sandcastles.
The kids with their Grandma and Grandpa at the hotel.
We had some delicious, overpriced ice cream at the hotel ice cream cafe.

Fancy chairs
Historic stain glass window
Historic Otis caged elevator
Each of the hotel keys are on a tassel
It was fun touring the historic hotel lobby. Maddy said it looked like a perfect setting for a murder mystery. It did remind me of the boat from Death on the Nile, so I can see where she got that idea.

THE MIDWAY

Nathan got to tour the Midway with his Grandpa on our last day in San Diego.

BROOKLYN'S FIRST PIANO LESSON

Maddy was such a good teacher that at the end Brooklyn started crying that her 30 minute lesson wasn't long enough.

HOMESCHOOL FIELD DAY

The kids had fun shooting the water rocket

There were some races that included carrying an egg of a spoon, balancing a bean bag on your head, and walking with a ball between your legs. Nathan decided to do all 3 races at once.

Popsicles in the shade were the perfect way to end field day.

PINEWOOD DERBY WINNERS!
There were a lot of really cool cars.

It was all girls on the podium this year.

Audrey (and Jared) got fastest car in the pinewood derby race.

Audrey also got an award for cutest cartoon car. She designed and painted the panda herself.

HIKING CAMELBACK

Jared and I got to take one last hike up Camelback with some of his classmates.
