Iran attacks and evacuation from Bahrain Feb/Mar 2026

IRAN ATTACKS BAHRAIN

On Febraury 28th, Iran begun it's attacks on Bahrain. Jared was on a flight back from a CME course in DC when the attacks began, and his was flight diverted to Istanbul. The kids and I were in our home hearing loud booms from missle and drone interceptions, and our whole house began to shake. I was grateful that we had decided to get a house far from the base, which seemed to be the main target.

The Hairrsn from the ward came to stay with us since they live in Juffair near the base. They helped to entertain us while we waited for our evactuation.  The picture is of Brother Hairr doing a dance off with Audrey.

It took several days before they had a route and resources in place for us to evacuate. We had to lock up our house and leave almost everything behind, but we were grateful to be safe and out of harms way. Our escorts took us to Saudi Arabia. For security reason, we can't share more details about the evacuation. 

SAUDI ARABIA

We stayed a compound there for a few days before we were able to get a flight out to the Navy base in Naples. From there they put us on a plane a couple hours later to Baltimore. 

BALTIMORE

Nine days after the attacks started, we finally landed in Baltimore. We were exhausted both physically and emotionally, so we were happy that they got a hotel for a night.

THE CRANNEYS

The great thing about coming through Baltimore was that Rachel came by our hotel and we got to meet Ezra and Lydia! They are so cute! My Dad also happened to fly into Baltimore that night on his way back from Italy, and he was able to visit us and give me a father's blessing. 

BOISE, IDAHO

We made it to Boise! First order of business, we bought a car.

The kids were exctied to play with all of LEGOs at their grandparent's house.

We were excited to live within a 20 min drive of two temples! 

After the dry, dust of Bahrain, we are really appreciating all the beautiful plants and flowers we see.
