South Vietnam

VIETNAM WAR TOUR

Our last stop in Vietnam. Here we learned more about the Vietnam war from the perspective of our Vietnamese tour guide. We visited victims of Agent orange, Jared and Nathan shot some AK-47s, and we saw US tanks, planes, and helicopters that had been captured by the north Vietnamese. We learned about bamboo traps and crawled through the Cu Chi tunnels used by the Viet Cong during the war. It was interesting, but the tour left us saddened by the incredible amount of pain and suffering that both sides experienced during the war.

HO CHI MINH CITY
On our second day we went to church and explored the major landmarks in the city.

The traffic in Ho Chi Minh was even more crazy then the rest of the country. We saw 5 people riding just one little scooter.
Visited the markets

Vietnam's Notre Dame Cathedral

Old Saigon Post Office
We escaped the rain at the delicious La Moi restaurant

For some reason this statue of Ho Chi Minh reminded me of Walt Disney welcoming everyone to Disneyland.

CHINA TOWN

We visited China Town of Ho Chi Minh City. There were some pretty spots, but the rats there scared us away pretty quickly.

MEKONG RIVER DELTA CRUISE

On the way to the Delta we stopped by to visit the giant Buddha.

The tour ended with another feast of delicious vegetarian Vietnamese food!

We learned how they process coconuts in Coconut Village. It was delicious!
