THE BARLOWS
The Barlows were angels to let us stay with them for so long as we were between homes waiting on medical approval to move to Japan. Sarah has a real gift with children, and Brooklyn and Audrey absolutely loved having all the extra time with their Aunt Sarah. She read them books, taught them to crochet, and let them help her cook.
GOODBYES!
Saying good-bye to the Barlows and the Cranney's who were nice enough to take us and all our luggage to the airport.
And we're finally off! I am still amazed at myself for getting all of the luggage and stuff together for our move. It was a major undertaking!
This is us packing "light."
We were blessed to have a wonderful sponsor family that helped us get settled in our new home with the port-to-home program. They went above and beyond to make sure our home was stocked with groceries, TP, etc. They drove us around to go shopping and even took Brooklyn and Audrey to the beach so they could be entertained while we got settled.
When we first got to Oki we were a little disappointed because it wasn’t as pretty as people had told us (lots of bunker like buildings packed together on narrow streets). Since we don’t have Japanese drivers licenses and cars yet, our friends were kind enough to take us to see an Oki sunset, and we could finally see the beauty of our new home. We are grateful for our beautiful new home and the many kind people who are helping with our transition to living here.
We love it here!
AEON MALL
We love the mall near our home which has a lot of stores with great prices (thanks to the exchange rate). We got a kick out of the Siracha vending machine in the mall.
OKINAWA TEMPLE
We visited the Okinawa temple. We are excited to see it dedicated soon!
