MARY
I've been working on my new year's goal to work out 5 days a week. I was doing really well until we all got sick with the swine flu last week, but plan to get back on track now that I can breathe through my nose again. In addition to exercise, Jared and I have a lot of goals for home improvement projects this year. Here are some pictures of some curtains I made for the kids' rooms.
JARED
Jared bought some woodworking tools and is excited to use them. He is currently building some end tables for our living room (I'll post pictures when he finishes them--right now they look like glorified tomato cages). When he finishes those, his next project is to redo our master closet. In addition to work and woodworking, he stays busy with his callings and giving the kids lots of daddy attention--which it seems they can never get enough of.
ABBY
It seems that we have finally found the thing to motivate Abby to get potty trained--ballet lessons. She has been doing much better with this new incentive.
MADDY
Maddy is still our sweet, smiling happy bear. She is learning so much everyday and is starting to use longer sentences and can now count to 10. She loves books, music, building things, and copying just about everything that her older sister does.
Poor Maddy was the most affected by the swine flu. She got it first and was the last one to recover. She had high fevers, vomiting, and an awful cough that kept her up every night for a week. She is finally getting better, but it was hard to see our little bear so sick.
NATHAN
Nathan continues to be our sweet, happy baby. He started solids this month and is continuing to grow at an amazing rate. He and Maddy now wear the same size diapers and he has outgrown his baby bathtub.

I love the post. It is so fun to see the girls and Nathan grow up. Also, it sounds like you and Jared have some fun hobbies!
Your kids are super-cute, and I think Abby looks beautiful in her white ballet outfit! I'm so impressed by your home decor skills :)
Mary, your family is too cute. I love the pulpit story, it's just so Abby.
It is amazing how much the kids grow in a month! They already look so much bigger than they did in December. We are glad to hear you are doing better - being sick is the worst. I love hearing Abby's creative creations. Thanks again for helping us with our books. Let us know if you have any questions.
Very cute thanks for the update, the kids are cute and I am so glad you are over the swine flu. We've had some sickos at our house the last few days too, and Jacob broke his thumb. We miss you and love the update, the curtains are soo cute.
I'm glad to hear that you survived the swine flu. Hope you are all feeling good now. Cute pictures and very cute family. Glad you are all staying busy.
Wow, the girls and especially Nathan are growing so much! I can't wait until we get to see everyone again, it seems like so long when we see your blogs!!! I am trying to fast forward a few years when Joseph is finally done with school and we can start working on things like our own home and health. It seems like such a long haul but you help me stay encouraged! Hope you are all feeling better from the horrible flu!
Your kids are so darling. I sure hope I wasn't the teacher who failed to call Abby up to the pulpit in Primary--bless her heart.
I also really enjoyed your notes from that book. I agree, there is so much that we can learn from immigrants to our country and from other cultures in general.
