February 2011

NATHAN
Nathan turned 18 months old this month and finally learned how to walk! His stats are: Head 49 cm (80%), Height 33.25 inches (73%), Weight 27 lbs (64%).

He stays busy and loves to be a big boy and do whatever his big sisters are doing. Here he is "driving" the bus at the children's museum.

He is proud of himself walking, but when you ask him to do it, he usually squats down like this and refuses to perform.

ABBY
Abby dancing and pretending she is Angelina Ballerina. She still loves imaginary play. She is also doing really well with her reading and piano lessons. I just registered her for kindergarten. She is super excited and Jared and I are scared to death. It is hard to think of my little girl being so grown up.

MADDY
Maddy with one of her mischievous smiles. She is still very sweet but is at that age where she likes to push boundaries and act up to see how we will react. We are trying hard to know how to deal with our very determined little girl. We are hoping this stage will pass soon!

THE GIRLS
Abby and Maddy are best friends and love to play together all the time. Here they are playing in their doll house.

The other day I came home from shopping to see them flying around like fairies with these paper wings they made and tapped to their backs.

Here are the girls with their their new sunglasses, shirts, and books that they got for Valentine's day.
Here they are building together at the children's museum.

Dressing up and performing on the stage at the children's museum.

MARY
I was getting really tired of not sleeping well and waking up achy every morning, so we finally decided to break down and buy a new bed. When it arrived it wasn't as I high as I wanted so Jared built a nice 5 inch platform to raise it higher for me. We got a new gel foam memory foam mattress from Costco and it is so comfortable I feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud! Getting a good nights sleep has done wonders in helping me be a happier momma.

So here's a picture for my sisters who complain that I never post pictures of myself. Not as skinny as I'd like to be, but I'm doing much better about exercising now that Jared got me a free Nordic Track off Craigslist which allows me to exercise inside (I'm really wimpy about going out in the cold).
JARED
Here is Jared putting together his new composter with the kids for FHE. It's still cold, but he is getting excited about putting in our garden as soon as it warms up.

Here is Jared with his new braces. The top ones are clear so you barely notice them. The hardest part for him is not being able to chew since the orthodontist put in bite spacers so he doesn't bite off his bottom braces. So for now he and Nathan are on the same soft, mushed up food diet.

The girls like to call the braces "Daddy's monster teeth." When he goes like this you can see why.
